Description

Zucchini and courgettes are very easy to cut. Their firmness and compactness make them perfect to practise on. So the slices don't look too boring, some chefs have got creative to make them real eye catchers.

Step by step instructions

Courgettes

  1. Using the claw grip, cut the ends off the washed courgette with a knife.
  2. Using the channel knife, peel the skin from the courgette at equal intervals.
  3. Then, secure the courgette on the board once again with the claw grip and cut into slices of about 6mm / 0.24inch.

Paring courgette

  1. Cut the courgette into 5 – 6cm / 1.9 – 2.3inch long pieces. Then quarter them and use a peeling knife to cut equal pieces. To do this, place the knife at the top and pull it through in a smooth, semi-circular movement.
